I have been DYING to do Miami Spice since forever. Most of South Miami's big events happen in October, November, December, and January. For those who live under a rock, Miami Spice is the popular two-month period from August to the end of September where food lovers get to wine and dine with three-course menus in Miami's top restaurants for the bargain price of $23 for brunch/lunch and $39 for dinner. Most restaurants however charge you 18% gratuity off the bat which SUCKS but it's still wayyyy less than what you would pay for if you went to restaurant without the Miami Spice menu. There's over 240 restaurants to choose from.
I had to partake in the Miami Spice festivities before I had serious FOMO (Fear of Missing Out).Seaspice and Modern Garden is a waterfront seafood brasserie and Lounge with 225 feet of docking facility and is located on the bank of the Miami River. Although there are many restaurants in South Florida, Seaspice was featured in Food and Wine Magazine for being one of the best places to eat. You don't even have to go to Wynwood because they even have a swing in the restaurant which is a total INSTAGRAM photo opportunity.
They have great variety of food options at Seaspice. I attached some pictures of the food I tried at Seaspice. The portions were fairly sized and the food was DELICIOUS omg !!!! I didn't get a chance to take a picture of it but the bacalao croquettes were so delicious. They were not fishy, and they had spanish seasoning incorporated, I totally recommend. All and all, I recommend Seaspice for a day with good weather because most of the restaurant is outside and it's pretty for pictures. I am not a fan of chocolate most people are though. The dessert was rough if you're not a chocolate lover like me. It's very rich so I'm just gonna assume it's not for a palate like mine.
3 courses + 1 drink + 18% gratuity = less than $50.00
I went to The Forge in Miami Beach for dinner to celebrate my friend's 21st birthday. Going to The Forge, you never know who you could brush shoulders with. They are known for their huge chairs, chandeliers, and their fantastic steaks; after all they are a steakhouse. I felt as though their Miami Spice menu was a bit scarce, but that's besides the point. I got the caesar salad, and the Filet Mignon. I didn't take a picture of either because personally they weren't aesthetically pleasing to be honest. The drink was TO DIE FOR, and the dessert. The drink I got was Carioca Passion and the Guava and Mango cake. I personally like desserts that incorporate fruits because I am not really a big fan of desserts in general- so if I have a dessert, it needs to have fruit in some way. It was so light and the cake was so soft and not super sweet but the fruit complemented it perfectly. The service was spectacular and people go to the bar on Friday nights so it had a party atmosphere to it
. 3 courses with free side of vegetables + 1 drink + 20% gratuity = $70.00
Miami Spice is definitely worth trying. There's only a couple days left so definitely make those reservations.
